Mallard was employed at Can-Do Dog Grooming on Fairbanks Drive in El Paso, Texas in 1996. She arrived for work at 7:00 a.m. on October 2, 1996. Mallard was scheduled to meet her stepfather for lunch, but she worked past the appointed time and never called him. She left work at approximately 1:00 p.m. and walked to the corner of Dyer Street and McCombs Street to catch a bus to her residence. Mallard was seen by several witnesses at the bus stop, but investigators don’t believe she actually boarded a bus. She has never been heard from again. Few details are available in Mallard’s case.
