Malloch was last seen in Waterville, Maine on September 26, 1965. He was staying with an acquaintance at a residence there when he left in the evening to get some air. He never returned and has never been heard from again, and an extensive search of the area turned up no indication of his whereabouts. Malloch was declared legally dead in 1972 so his estate could be settled, but his case has never been solved.
