Lulaida departed from her place of employment, a McDonald’s restaurant in Santa Clara, California, at 11:00 p.m. on November 25, 1973. A friend saw her begin the drive home. She never returned to her residence and has not been heard from again. On December 24, almost a month after Lulaida’s disappearance, her vehicle was found abandoned in Santa Clara with her purse, coat, work uniform, keys and other personal belongings inside. There was no evidence as to her whereabouts. Authorities believe she may have been taken against her will, as she was on good terms with her family and had no apparent reasons to run away. At the time of her disappearance, Lulaida was a student at Wilcox High School. Foul play is suspected in her case.
